OnlyFans videos now defaulting to DRM/streaming

I remember when sites in the mid 00s implemented DRM content. Back then it was hard to rip their videos and now it appears the same is occurring. Folks haven't countered an easy method of doing so. The fact that a clear method to getting the content that we pay for is not available is clear folks are struggling with it.

These folks are dumb sending out $10000 PPV that are DRM protected.

Oh, well more money for me to save. Time to start unsubscribing.

I have a couple creators that added me on iMessage that have sent me content through there. Other than that I'm done with OF and its site.

They already complaining on reddit about losing subs. They are about to lose more now.

How’d you get that connection with them? For the IMessage content sent to you? Like what do you ask them? Do you have a previously established relationship? Because there’s gotta be something for them to give you heir number and send you content? I’ve used IMessage sometimes and I use WhatsApp but it’s only when I’m getting content from creators that I do so. So it’s easy to talk them into it. Just curious how the sitch went down for you.

I think some screen recorders can get around the DRM.

Doesn't the quality suffer? Haven't tried it but I have watched some videos where clearly it was screen recorded and while it's watchable the quality/resolution is not as good as compared to when you download it on its original quality.

IMHO anybody can exchange messages thru OF to request a specific creator to send a couple videos thru iMessage, that part is clear, but I understand this as a mere workaround for things u might want badly, and the creators doing it as a “favor”, but it is not a sustainable solution and most importantly, I woiuld not be sharing my apple ID or phone number to any performer…

It is a premise for most of us to remain anon if u are just consuming content… and on the other hand I dont see the creators affording the time to keep doing or sharing things this way over time.

I probably should’ve PM’D him instead. To prevent others from seeing/replying. Didn’t think anyone would reply except him. My mistake.

All of that is good for you. I’m sure you know not everyone is you. I buy fetish custom videos from creators on OF & the customs I ask for is forbidden content that can’t be shared on OF it gets deleted. So unlike a regular user probably like yourself that doesn’t get customs or more specifically forbidden fetish ones I have to use different methods of payments & communication since certain fetish words are blocked. And most importantly i have to use different methods of receiving my videos. I don’t get the luxury of staying on OF since everything would get deleted. Getting fetish customs from creators is vastly different. Than just watching their normal content on their page. So creators & I have to put a little of our “anonymity” aside. To actually work together. I know some creators real names & some phone numbers since I’ve had to use payment methods like PayPal. And use apps like WhatsApp or IMessage. And I keep it to myself. With their customs. So I have obvious different levels of comforts than you. Shouldn’t really have to explain that but here we are.

That to say I’m trying my best way to say I didn’t ask for your opinion because we are different OF users & none of what you said helped me or gave me any form of useful information in regards to what I wanted to know. You know? The questions I was trying to receive answers to from the individual I was asking them to. And besides you have 0 experience or at least lead on to you having none. So listening to an opinion from someone who has no experience with something. Does that really make sense. There’s outliers in every situation so I rather get insight from the person I asked. And That’s me trying my best to keep it honest & respectful.

I got their iMessage by being a supporter of their content. I've purchased a lot of PPV on their pages which lead to them noticing and us communicating more. Which lead to them wanting to establish more of a communication with a follower. Which lead to me purchasing custom videos. No fetish stuff. Which they seem to prefer better than making transactions though OF. Many of them I have had on iMessage for years. And actually communicate about stuff outside of sex and porn. So only fans seeking to block the download of content won't really hurt me. Some of the biggest threads on this site... I have the guys on iMessage and have custom videos from many that can't be found on the net. Many of them also seem to trust you more because they know who they are making videos for. Instead of folks downloading their content to spread it.

When my of page got hack and I had to go through hoops to get OF to fix the problem they all had no problem sending me the content from their page for free.

It allows them to get the full amount instead of dealing with only fans taking 20% of their profit. I have had various creators on my iMessage for years. But I'm not the average user anyway. I don't mind spending on a ppv.

That’s what I’m talking about. Yep I’ve sort of had my own path to experiences like this. Getting closer to certain creators. However I don’t buy PPV’s I have on very rare cases but never enough to form a connection with a creator if I form a connection it’s usually through the customs. I build my connections. Since because it’s fetish I also pay more than average if they are really comfortable with it I may get another and I’m very complimentary & nice to them. So they do gravitate towards me. But also with me since I don’t ask for normal customs and sort of have to go off site immediately in some cases depending on where we move does require them to trust me. And it’s not something that happens right out the gate. Some people do. Not all. So yea I was wondering if it was like a long game or there was some type of other method you used. Good to know.

And yess I was about to say that I always these days prefer buying videos from people using cashapp, PayPal, etc. because exactly like what you said onlyfans steal their money. The more you give them the more they take away. So annoying and greedy. Sometimes creators prefer to get their money through OF which makes me feel so bad and weird cuz I know OF is stealing it. I much prefer the other payment methods now.

Downloader for OF still works for me on Microsoft Edge Browser. Cannot find it in Chrome store to see if it works on Google Chrome. I follow several creators now and so far only 1 has posted a recent video that I am not able to download or screen record. The playback quality of that video was sub par. The other creators I have had no issues. I would not have even noticed had I not seen this thread. Now I know what the issue is.

Of course… DRM isnt stopping u from getting ur porn DIRECTLY with these couple of creators that u’ve been supporting aka PAYING for through an alternative path… U are actually not using OnlyFans neither them - I follow ur rational but that’s not even a real workaround but for very specific content or 1-3 creators I guess…

I’m done… cancelled my subs last night and kinda happy with my own decision. f*ck em and i do hope tons of people follow cancellation steps!

The overwhelming majority of users that download content don't share. This will hurt them. Users that leak will still find a way to leak content. I'm not having issues yet,but I would have no problem cancelling my subs if I couldn't download what I have paid for. And I will tell them that when I cancel.

Yea I’ve talked about this exact thing here a week ago. But OF won’t do it because it will cost them money. But this is exactly wtf they need to do. If these creators want to use this stupid setting let it be know to the world and not be another deceptive secret forcing us to waste our money to see if an OF is worth subscribing to. It’s annoying. We use to have to worry about if an OF account is even worth subscribing to now we have to worry about if they are but because of this annoying setting it makes it not worth it.

Yea I’ve seen that idea. I wish these threads had like a search mechanic. That way you could search like key words or in this case key people. So if you wanted to subscribe to someone you’d just have to search the thread for their name. It’d get pretty annoying if it was a bunch of people asking if the same peoples onlyfans has the DRM setting. I feel like there’s a correct way we’d have to run it.
