Might I just say in reply I was talking of a personal experience of more than 24 years ago - I was'n't recommending it - quite the reverse, in fact.
Ironically the old films I mentioned I saw on a UK channel called Talking Pictures (Freeview Channel 81 in Britain. You're welcome), lots of old films, but they obviously think they are broadcasting to an audience of archbishops. For example before the transmission of the Joe Orton biog "Prick Up Your Ears" (1987) they apologised for "bad langauge, nudity and adult themes ;;; which may upset some viewers". A promiscuous gay playwright , who flaunted his infidelity to his emotionally disturbed lover, murdered by that lover BECAUSE of that fact- what did they expect?. The "upsetting" warning is also given for Hitchcock and other thriller films. If ever anyone uses a rude word like "bitch" or "bastard" they are faded out, be it 2 in the afternoon or 2 in the early hours, Even when they show old childrens shows like Catweazle or Robin Hood, they issue a PG because of "inappropriate langauge". This is being ultra-cautious with a vengence!
What I am trying to say is that there is such a thing as having too weak a stomach, and underestimating an audience. If I say I quite enjoyed the HItchcock film "Frenzy" it obviously doesn't follow, I endorse strangling women and putting them in potato sacks. Surely as an entirely adult forum, we should be allowed to mention things, and at the same time not be assumed to be condoning certain acts. It's like driving with a hand on the handbrake AND a man with a red flag walking in front of the sports car, to make sure we don't go too far or too fast.
In short, anyone coming on to an adult site with a sexual theme, is, I am sure, able to tell the difference between approval or disapproval for themselves. I also feel I made a valid point in that discussion about "control" exerted by a very dodgy man ofmy experience. I mentioned no names or clues as to the locality, though it was back in 2000/2001.
