The Taste of Space: Buzz Says, 'Tang Sucks'

This powdery drink has become a punchline for the drink of astronauts, but something that was actually despised by a majority of them. It was born in the post WW-II Baby Boom 1950s, an era where everything was futuristic and seemingly reverse-engineered from alien spacecraft that crashed in Roswell, New Mexico. Along with Tang there were frozen TV dinners in metal trays from Swanson.

Not all great ideas turn-out to be all that great. By the 1970s, cars with catalytic converters and safety devices were introduced that turned testosterone-loaded Corvettes with 427 cu.in. engines into soft, impotent touring cars.
