My Nan, then older sister made these, recipe passed on......now no more. Nan used to place sixpence and threepence coins in them as tradition. Now, it would be classed as neglect.

I did one meet Jeff Stryker, a porn star from the 80s and 90s in a hotel in Bismarck, ND. We struck up a conversation in which he told me all about the porn industry from his perspective.

We had been the only two in the hotel pool. He asked me if I was also in town for the porn convention. He laughed when I said that I was there for a convention of teachers of German. I asked what led him to ask about the porn convention. He smiled and pointed to the bulge in my speedo. All I could do is smile.
