Richard Armitage

he basically said he was too ashamed to come out most of his life and never came out to the public
made it seem like he was waiting to one day become attracted to a woman
hes in his fifties, if u dont want the public really knowing if ur gay, that sounds like a lot of internalized homophobia,
also weird hes never done anything but straight roles
Maybe now that he's come out, he'll finally have sex with other male actors on screen  :heart_eyes:

Couldn't agree more. He is likely to have internalized homophobia, and can't fully accept himself. Also it's kinda fishy, he just came out in the middle of his show is being aired.

He's been out to anyone who mattered since he was a teenager, and didn't encounter major problems or resistance along the way, so that doesn't sound like internalised homophobia to me. He prefers to let the work speak for itself (pretty successfully) rather than courting publicity and press attention. He probably has a long term partner who has no wish to be in the public eye. In a recent interview he seemed to like the fluidity favoured by younger people today rather than being labelled as one thing or another. All of which sounds pretty sensible and relaxed about things. Why is that such a problem?

Hmmm. Actually he literally just “came out” in the middle of "Obsession" is being aired on Netflix. And Of course it's not for 'Publicity' or 'Press Attention' RIGHT??? Because he came out is just an accident.

huh? how's coming out as gay gonna promote the fantasy of an illicit affair between a married man and his son's fiancée? It'd be like the actor who played as Christian Grey coming out as gay to "promote" The Fifty Shades movie.
