Who would have thought.. I mean. When I measure a board I always make sure I measure with a distance of at least 10 cm to make sure it is not accurate. I might also measure diagonally across the side to avoid any accuracy. Or just in case when I feel like it I combine those methods, maybe experiment with new ones, take a picture, and photoshop the board to make it fit
