Get a grip. Get a grip now.
Just replying because you replied to one of my posts - and took it out of context.
I never passed judgement on what he did or didn't do. I also never protected or condemned him. In fact,
one of my posts that gets most reactions (and is one of the most liked posts on this thread btw) is about my confusion as to why he posted the video.
What I was saying is that he has been punished enough already: he lost his job, is being ridiculed left and right, has - by accounts I've seen on here - gotten 1000 comments on LinkedIn trashing him, and his name is out there for all to see, and privacy is a thing of the past for him. So my point is: is more punishment necessary? Everyone coming here is coming to see the pics/vids, etc., so is it necessary to tear him apart because of his looks? Is misgendering him necessary? Is it also necessary to act like ageists?
Destroying people at their worst speaks volume. He's not a murderer. He's not a terrorist. There's a huge difference between defending/encouraging his behavior and having some compassion for a guy who has been watching his life prospects going down the drain.
"Oh but he brought this on himself!" So what? Why are y'all feeling so entitled to cast stones?
Has it ever occurred to you - and everyone else here - that he could easily become a walking hate target?
Jail for months? For fucking in his workplace when no one was there? Are you kidding? Two consenting adults had sex and got caught because they recorded it. People that commit crimes that do not involve harming others physically but morally get like weeks in jail - if they get jail time at all. And you want him to go away for months because of that?
I don't understand your logic and the logic of so many others on here. It's like you guys need blood, suffering, and more degradation.
What would be enough for you besides jail? Getting people to chain him to a lamp post while people spat on him all day? What about have him parade naked from Capitol Hill to his house on foot while everybody screamed "gay shame" at him? Or would you prefer something more disturbing like him taking his own life?
You guys should practice empathy. All things considered: fired, degraded, humiliated, exposed, ridiculed, etc, and you still think it's not enough. Unbelievable.
That's ridiculous. He's just one gay guy of many. He's never been elected as a representative who can speak for all homosexuals in the country/world or model gay behavior. One of the websites that reported on this scandal gave us a list of Republicans with "slutty behavior" and appropriately noted that "right-wingers are conveniently acting as if these sexual antics only exist within the Democratic party." If you are so concerned about Republicans pinning this on the whole gay community, play "inverse logic" and throw at their faces that Republicans invaded the Capitol, so EVERY Republican (including the ones that will be born in the future) are a bunch of insurrectionists/terrorists.
I won't say anything else because
@MeatStickSupreme already left
a great reply that sums up what I think.
