Revive what exactly? He’s doing just fine except for having a BB #1 hit every 8 weeks.

He’s still on the top like 20 most streamed artist on Spotify, sells out venues, and has a large supportive fan base. Being gay to a 99.9% female audience isn’t going to kickstart stuff any more.

maybe he'll finally release a song this year successful enough he can use as a lead single for his next album.

That is speculation. I think that no one really thinks he is gay, but all of u WISH that he is gay. Even when he date girls no one believes him. In his place, I think that is really anoying when other people never wont believe u. 'Shawn mendes is gay' 'He is gay' 'He is in the closet' Let him be. If he said he is straight, just believe him. No one of us would ever have the chanse to date him even when he is gay. So what is the point of it? There are many more straight guys with 'gay things'

Josh at one point was offered just about every major role in Hollywood and said no to all of them and Hollywood stopped offering.

Pearl Harbor was an extremely high profile film and Hartnett was the films breakout star thanks to the Bruckheimer marketing machine and Bay filming Hartnett like a Abercrombie model thrown into world war 2. Hartnett was the biggest name of the late 90s/early 2000s actor scene from that point forward.

It's hard to describe the career path to kids today. Imagine if current Jacob Elordi became as globally famous as Justin Bieber is currently next year, and then randomly chose to move to the midwest and retire 3-4 years into his fame. Hartnett turned down $100m to be Superman in 2002 and then turned down Christopher Nolan's Batman (which became Christian Bale) in 2003 so that he could star in Brokeback Mountain, which he was eventually unable to make because he had already committed to David Fincher for Black Dahlia...which Fincher walked away from and left Hartnett stuck with De Palma and unable to play the Gylleenhaal role in Zodiac.

Mental health wasn't something that was discussed but in recent years, Hartnett is basically said that became his issue. He was far too normal and soft to deal with Hollywood scene and hated it. Very clear that Mendes is following a similar path.

No, Ben Afflec was THE huge movie star from that movie. Josh had tons of buzz but flopped in follow up movies. Ben Afflec was a movie star at that time while Josh was still climbing that ladder. Ben had Good Will Hunting Oscar in '97, Armagedon in '98, then Pearl Harbor in '01, before he started dating JLo which dominated the tabloids till they broke up. If we are talking young guy that dominated in that era or movie, it was Ben, Damon, Keanu, and Leo.
