Timothée chalamet

With the right script, I could see him being a huge comedic, Jim Carrey-esque romance comedy actor
You can like whatever you want to like, but that is absolutely not what his career trajectory has been so far or what he's been interested in doing lol. He's a funny guy IRL or on SNL, but he is very obviously not remotely interested in being Jim Carrey. And in terms of stardom and box office it has worked out very well for him. Dune may not have been #1 but it did very, very well and whether you cared about it or not (it's not exactly my favorite movie) a shit-ton of people saw it and saw it for him.

Plus, this isn't 20-30 years ago. The reality is most romcoms have been flopping in the theaters for years. Like Tom Hanks before him, Timmy is not interested in being stuck as a light comic actor. I like comedies. But he's not doing them, and with a few exceptions most of them don't sell in American theaters atm sadly.

I just wanna enjoy a film that he's in for once. Cause I saw Dune for him too. And it was a waste of 2 hours. Boring as fuck. Idk why box office numbers are being brought up. Timmy has stated he's not concerned with what's gonna be a big box office draw when he decides to do films (which is why he's vocal about not wanting to do a Superhero movie). He typically chooses productions that he feels will get noticed by The Academy and it's too contrived and boring for me. Wonka was a step in the right direction. He was perfect for that

No actor or film is going to appease everyone - not even Jim Carrey - who hasn't been relevant in years. Box-office was brought up to prove the point that audiences obviously liked Dune. Just like they did A Complete Unknown, Wonka. And the industry and critics certainly like him.

Being that information came from Gwyneth Paltrow, I’d keep expectations in check. I often wonder if she even knows she’s filming a movie half the time.
She tells us she had to ask the intimacy coordinator to step back from her sex scenes with Timothée as the 'Okay, so now you put your hand there' stuff was stifling her performance.
