Tom holland

Even though there's some bad reviews and stuff, i like that both Tom and Amanda do get a lot of praise.
From the episodes i have seen so far i think Tom is excellent in it! Hope he doesn't let reviews get to his head too much and sees that even tough critics do see his part positive.

seems like everyone feels bad for the number of flops he’s had and doesn’t want him to be blamed for this one lol.

At least he committed to getting back to his current hair look then.

Oh and there's a Spider-Man movie slated for June 27th 2025. Some are speculating it's the fourth movie for Tom Holland but let's see if that's the case and not something else.

I think it's unfair to blame him for a bunch of flops. I think the ones that didn't do great and had him as the main star were Cherry and Chaos Walking. Cherry was a Russo Brothers project no one expected to be so boring. Chaos Walking was doomed from the start with all the changes in the script and directors and taking forever to shoot. Uncharted did very well in the box office.

Yeah I agree, I don’t blame him either. He’s just had some bad luck and made some bad project choices. He’s fine otherwise.

I don't blame him for the quality of the projects - Tom is an excellent actor. I blame either his management or whoever is making his project choices. Every time he's tried to branch out beyond tentpole stuff selling his known Marvel-branded face and persona, the arthouse or other 'serious' project is a flop because he's working with the wrong people suited for that kind of material. Akiva Goldsman (from A Crowded Room) has been a well-known, failing upwards hack since the '90s who lucked out with one Oscar win 20 years ago which was mocked by critics and the industry even then. And the Russos, while very talented at certain things, have had a series of critically drubbed projects outside of the MCU, first with Cherry and now with their megabudget Amazon flop Citadel.

If Tom went to someone like Christopher Nolan or Scorsese to play even a supporting part in a bigger project, or someone like Greta Gerwig, Noah Baumbach, Wes Anderson, etc. he could start building a better non-blockbuster career (a la Adam Driver or Chalamet). He could've been one of those 30 worried young nuclear scientists in Oppenheimer lol. He could've been one of the Kens in Barbie! But he's not doing that.

Tom's lack of success outside of Spider-Man, like most of the other Marvel actors' lack of success outside of their superhero roles, comes down to resistance to doing nudity. If Tom started doing actual nude scenes, not the blink-and-you'll-miss-it weirdly angled and lit to let you see as little as possible stuff he did in Cherry, his projects would skyrocket in popularity.

Now imagine saying that about a woman.

idk if you’re joking or not, but that is absolutely incorrect.
