Trevor donovan

At least he is not flat denying it anymore. He at one point said he and Yanni were not lovers he is straight etc. Supposedly his rep aka Yanni says he’s recently single. I think some of us may just be tired of the lies. You don’t have to come out, but please don’t insult us and float another beard out there. Anyway at this point it’s all so odd. They still live together. So there is that.
a' la Aaron Rodgers.

It’s too bad, because even though I’m sure that he’s a lovely person, I can’t help but feel that flipping from Hallmark to GAC tarnished him for me. Most of the people who flipped say it’s because GAC represents their “family values beliefs,” but the main difference I see is that Hallmark is trying to be more diverse and GAC isn’t.

Him going to GAC was a bit of a surprise to me. It's true that people are clear about why they left. Candace Cameron Bure especially. GAC itself is basically a bunch of people running away from Hallmark embracing diversity. Embracing families that aren't 20-30 something white people, with or without kids, "falling in love" within a week or so. With that CEO gone they've been doing so much more than they used to. Gay couples, different races, interracial couples, non-Christian beliefs (I think there's been at least 2 Hannukah movies in the past 2 years), embracing different cultures, etc. Candace fled because of the gay couples and most likely the non-Christian beliefs as well. Sad to say it wouldn't surprise me if the racial diversity bothered her too. She seems to want the world to reflect what she sees in the mirror. GAC is a shelter from the ones who can't handle the fact diverse families are real families.

I fully expected Trevor to stick with Hallmark with all that going on. I really don't the impression he buys into all that bullshit, so I can't help but wonder why he would leave the network that had to offer more opportunities for him.

Money

Does that explain it though? Hard to imagine Hallmark, as big as it is, offering less to an actor who has been in several of their movies than GAC.
GAC offered many a package, guaranteed multi picture deals. If you look at the ‘stars’ who defected, many of them got the same promise, including possible producer credits, which can translate to real money/power—see Cameron Bure’s deal specifically, or even Trevor’s. See also Danica McKeller, Jen Lilley, etc. Hallmark apparently did not *always* do that with many of its stars—although it is now using that playbook to keep the stars that have remained, like Will Kemp, Lacy Chabert, Holly Robinson Peete , etc. Hallmark made a decision at the top (likely based on tons of market research into shifting demographics) to more noticeably lean into diversity, so far to some mixed results, GAC did/is not. Because of the loss of some star power Hallmark will have to spend resources to create/build up new stars and hope that that translates to stable/growing ratings through more eyeballs/advertiser revenue, while GAC is focusing on buffing already recognizable faces who can *visually* tell the same narrative over and over and over again (trying to say this politely), because it has been a winning formula—and GAC’s plan is to milk the same cow, because it is/has been a winning formula. GAC did all this with money to lure them over. It’s also not inconceivable that some of those stars were a little spooked by the potential for a new direction at Hallmark, as in “will there be a long term place for me here if things change too drastically” But, IMO, this all comes down to money. Cameron Bure did it for ‘religious’ reasons, if you catch my drift—the others did not.

Watching one of his last Hallmark movies. He's a bit more believable in some roles than others. He's supposed to be a businessman in this one. Not really pulling it off. He's better in less white collar roles, I think.

People who stay in the closet for financial or personal gain when they don’t live in a country like Russia or Iran is gross, selfish and cowardly.

People don’t really owe it to the public to be “out”. You also don’t really know the dimensions of anyone’s sexual dimensions, sexual journey, preferences, traumas, mental health, insecurities, potential fluidity or questioning, where someone is in the gender, sexual, affection, romantic, emotion, commitment spectrum. However, the entertainment industry is full of people willing to sellout due to ego, money, opportunities. And while I don’t think being a public figure means you have to be unabashedly out, what does annoy is when famous people whine both about closet pressures and coming out pressures, as if that’s not just something that comes with the territory of fame and celebrity.

Terrible take, while we don’t live in a country like Russia or Iran lgbtq people are still frequent targets of attack in America, specifically by the right wing Christian extremists. Pulse, club q, power substation attacks, as much as we want to pretend it’s safe and accepting, it’s not.
