The guy in the middle is Max Wolf

Wow! You've solved a mystery for me here in 2 ways 1) I didn't know it was Max Wolf posing with Bert Callinder in that photo and 2) He's AKA RAMROD. He has a very distinctive scar on his left cheek and a little S-shaped/anchor tattoo on his left upper arm. Thank you so much for allowing me to put the pieces together.

I don't this this is MAX WOLF (RAMROD) on the left. It looks more like BRIAN DEXTER. Of course it's hard to be sure of whoever it is with his face being obscured. See a photo of Brian Dexter below:

I remember a brief write-up on the history of pornography. Bill Eld was one of the two or three examples of the extremely well-hung models who exemplified the shift from the early models in "posing pouches" or those more modestly-hung fully-nude models who slipped through the loophole exempting nudes from censorship.
