What are your views on briefs/tighty whities

I stopped by the Mack Weldon store at Hudson Yards in NYC recently just to see what all the hype is about. Are they really that superior to other brands? Can you give specifics as to why they're amazing?

Yes, for a certain generation, they are still hot, tho' even I confess they look a bit diapery to me. However, they bring back memories of exploring the marvelous act of beating off all those "developing" years.

I guess it depends on the fetishes u have and how u wear them, I am shorter than my dad was and have a smaller waist size, so when I first pulled on a pair of his they sat very high up on my stomach and about half of the briefs were sitting higher than my school pants and covered by my shirt.

I suppose I just got used to the feeling and still tend to buy & wear em a couple of sizes bigger than my actual waist size.

I’ve seen a fair number of guys in their underwear over the years and I’ve rarely seen plain white briefs. Boxer briefs seem to be the most common underwear. A few months back I hooked up a few times with a younger police officer who wore Hanes or Fruit of the Loom briefs in the packs that come from Walmart and or Target (I actually saw the bands of both brands as he would dress and undress).

He was only 26 and a thicker, country guy but I was a little surprised when I saw him in them. Once as he was getting out of the shower he put some on and was checking his phone in just his briefs when I asked if those were comfortable. He gave me the oddest look like ??? So I just smiled and said “nothing”. I never directly asked but I gathered he didn’t own anything else since I got him both of our uniform and civilian

That seems like a reasonable assumption. I didn’t judge his look at all, in fact he looked pretty damned good in general and could have pulled off most anything and still been attractive. Price is likely a consideration.

Yeah seems to be getting less boys in plain white Y-front briefs for sure, pity I think, and even the older generation are not as common in Y-fronts now days.

I guess I was one of a couple of boys in my year at school who wore them, and I remember going to the local pool with my family and friends and most guys over 40 or so would have yfronts of some sort like me and dad, but that was a few years ago now I guess.

Anyway I still enjoy wearing them and I get a pretty positive reaction from guys when I drop my pants, even the young guys say they look good on me as they go in through the flyfront.

Walmart and target both sell hanes and fruit of the loom pretty cheaply. I don’t think either carries jockey brand which is a little more expensive. We have jockey outlet stores close by but even those are more expensive than the discount stores.

Can't get them here, I had a pair of Fruit of the loom that I acquired from a neighbor a few years back, from memory they were basic white flyfronts and he had worn them in so comfortable. I guess I mainly wear Jockey Y-fronts because dad did and I got his old pairs to wear until I asked for some new pairs when I was in high school.

Someone came out with a study that said that tight underwear was the cause of low sperm viability because of the balls being kept to warm by the underwear. So all the young studs said I better let my nuts have some cooler air to up my sperm viability. Therefore almost over night the younger generation switched to boxers. At the same time false modesty became the rage and boxers did not show as much as briefs did when lounging in your underwear.

Surely the switch to boxers was not occasioned by the "research" (which is not conclusive at all) you cite. You think young guys switched to boxers so they could have kids?? I doubt any hs or college age guys did it for that reason. I think it was more just the business world saying, "People love novelty. Let's go against the received wisdom and market boxers to the next generation." That seems to have worked.

I was wearing briefs when I got to college (mom bought my clothes when I was at home) and realized all the guys were in boxers. I drove to Walmart and bought some Hanes boxers that day and have worn boxers 95% of the time since. I do have some Calvin Klein briefs I pull out occasionally.

yep for us "country" guys, your right. its just fucking drawers, it goes between our pants and our junk and it does its job. most of the time you wear what your daddy wore, usually if he had a phyical job, ie rancher, farmer, blue collar work of some kind, etc, and needed support, or f he had really large balls or big legs, he wore briefs (tighty whities) either BVD style or y front. if he had a less out right physcial job, or had skinny legs, or a longer floppier cock he might wear boxers. comfort was only for the consideration of how our junk feels in them throughout the day, and how difficult it might be to take in and out to piss. other than that, just buy, wear, and if your lucky enough get laid, but for most of us its only our old ladies or the guys in the locker room who are gonna ever see them.

lol what you just described is me on just about every morning, makes my wife crazy that i just DGAF about such things. it's just how I was raised, my dad was just as nonchalant about things, often saw him do just this, grab a pair out of the drawer or clean laundry bin in the kitchen and just pull them on without thinking about it. sometimes they weren't even "his" since me and my brother, my uncle (who we did the laundry for), the head ranch hand (who we also did the laundry for), and my grandpa who lived with us all wore the same plain tighty whities style. for us it's JUST underwear and not that big a deal.

I have out of about 45 pair or so of briefs (i buy in bulk at discount stores and save money), only maybe 6 at max of "tighty coloreds" and they are still full-cut, full fly BVD style. the only thing I have that does not fit that category are the 6 pair boxer briefs style Champion Gym underwear that as i have stated before in other posts I only wear for an hour or so a day OVER my jockstrap at the gym. (and yeah i go to a GYM...an actuall gym where guys go to workout, box, wrestle, get sweaty, lift weights, etc...not a "health club", lol

Just an observation from today. I often see posts and threads calling white briefs little boy or your dad's underwear. They and the guys who wear them are made fun of and told to grow up and wear boxers. If white briefs are so unpopular then why today when I went to Walmart there are only two packages of FTL white briefs and they are both XXL? I think more guys are wearing tighty whities than will admit it.
