Personally I'm getting the impression that LPSG is currently being both marketed and trending as a "Gay Site" (which there's absolutely nothing wrong with btw).
At the home page/log in screen I'm greeted by a large, auto-playing, very hardcore gay ad. Right below the word's "We happen to have the sexiest male members you'll ever meet".

In any forum other than Women's Issues/Ask a Woman, most of the threads I open or am about to open are or inevitably become gay male themed and thus exclude me entirely. I'll open or mouse over a thread asking "Have you ever.. " and the first line is "Guys have you ever _______ another guy?" and excludes me right away. I was actually about to post a thread asking for people to be a little more inclusive with their questions considering there are still people of all genders and sexual orientations on this site but it seems like a futile endeavour.

I realize that this site needs to make money to cover operating costs and be worth Mr. LPSG's time, but being greeted every single time I come here by a huge auto-play advertisement showing men fucking and eating other men's asses certainly gives the impression that it's a "Gay Site".

That is a fair point. I appreciate the feedback. Those banners are for people not logged in. My experience on the site is one where I am always (or almost always) logged in. I'm wondering how many people like you log in every time and experience the banners.

We have been trying different banners to see what works. It is a very tricky situation. When it comes to users that aren't logged in we have to advertise to the masses as there is no way to segment who's who when a user isn't logged in. That said realistically is there any banner or ad I could have up that you would consider buying from? Just curious.

There is no excuse for that welcome message. It should have been better. I wrote it on a night where the server was struggling immensely and I was testing a theory I had to improve the site speed. I wrote it quickly thinking it would be a short-term message. Here we are a month later and it is still up. I've removed the male members and will look to re-write the entire message. Thank you for that feedback.

When I took over LPSG I had big plans and ideas for the site. Then I started talking to the community and I realized that I didn't fully understand LPSG. Instead of implementing those ideas, I took a different approach and decided to listen to the community. I watched, I read, I engaged with as many people as possible. I worked hard to understand what the community was about and then tried to provide what it needed.

I love the diversity of LPSG. Whenever I talk about LPSG I bring up how diverse our membership base is. I think that is the most unique and interesting aspect of this community. I'd love for someone to bring up another community that has such diversity.

You bring up valid points. I don't have the specific numbers but I think since I took over LPSG the membership base has changed in dynamic. We have been growing at a very steady pace and I think our gay population and bi/curious population have been the majority of that growth. That is mainly due to what is driving the growth of traffic on the site.

I try not to dictate which direction LPSG is headed but rather help guide it along its path. Going with the flow. I am always open to ideas to make the site more enjoyable for any demographic. Please always feel free to share with me

If other people see it as a gay site, cool. I just don't. I've explained why. I point out that it wasn't created as a gay space, and that is in fact inclusive but sure it may have morphed into something it wasn't originally. Doesn't mean it's meant to be a gay community.

If that's the direction @Mr. LPSG is taking it, that's his decision... I'm just posting based on my experience as a member.

Perhaps I need to consider ad-block, too. The uniqueness of LPSG was in its mature subtlety rather than an in-your-face prurient blatantness. To each their own. I’ll just continue to avoid the ads. They are wasted on me.

Realistically I have no clue what banners people would actually click on here. I realize they need to be there and have no problem with them, but maybe try choosing some that are more subtle or tasteful (and that has nothing to do with sexual orientation: I'd say the same about in-your-face hetero ads).
Why not start a thread asking people? I'm totally serious: "Which banner ads would you click on and why?". You might get some valuable feedback and insight from the community

I understand and appreciate that. The youtube ads piss the hell out of me so I know the feeling. That said I still go to youtube and know that if I'm not paying for it I can't really complain :/

I get that. I've been trying a few and I'm guessing by what you are seeing you know which has been performing the best. It's pretty much like any ads it isn't the ones we can ignore that do well it's always the most annoying ones.

Ad performance and management is an art and it is made more difficult when a community is diverse. I tried a few ads that were easy to ignore (ie VPN ads) and they made $0.00. Unfortunately with adult sites views or clicks aren't as important as conversions. The ads only make money if people join/buy.

Totally agree. I only log in if I have to answer someone or want to check my messages.

Otherwise I just stroll around looking for posts that makes me laugh. I know most probably come here to watch porn or plan circle jerks (don't even want to know more about it). To me LPSG is something else - it's a fun place to interact - sexual or nonsexual. The chat (really miss it) was an amazing place at times. It kept me up for hours most days. I know the site is changing (has been for years). It's okay with me - I know I'm among the dinosaurs here.

Like most women here, I stay for multiple reasons. Yes, including but not limited to an interest in endowed men.
