Does anyone know if the Tokyo Central Youth Hostel now allow you to wear underwear in the bath?
Going by the reviews this maybe the case.
Very unusual for Japan if the case.
No one seems to be complaining about having to go to naked in the bath for a few years.
Or is the bath still in use?

Idk but I stayed at a capsule hotel in Shinjuku and there was plenty of nakedness. The hotel had an onsen/sento.

I aware of a few places in Japan like this. I was just curious what the situation is with the bath at the Tokyo Central Youth Hostel.
My opinion is if you want to see naked Japanese men then don't go to where the tourist go. Go where the Japanese go. I stayed at two capsule hotels, one in Tokyo and one in Osaka. In both, the majority of the clientele were Japanese. In one I had a bit of difficulty with the language barrier. In both of them I rarely saw non Japanese. In both of them I saw plenty of naked men.
I don't have tattoos though. I can pretty much go anywhere in Japan as far Asa sentos and onsens go.
Currently planning a trip to London(Next January) so I was wondering if Generator has still action going on in the basement showers (now that they've been refurbished with doors, someone confirm please)
Should I book another hostel in London? Any suggestions?
I had a lot of fun in Generator showers last year and I'd love to get it again

And, of course, Japan is full of onsen and sento where you can see 100+ naked men in an hour of soaking in blissful hot water (can’t remember names of the two I’ve been to, but I’d say just go to the biggest ones you can find in whatever city you are in).
There are even some open overnight, meant for travelers leaving early next morning, drunk businessmen and others looking for a cheap stay. I haven’t done those myself but I’m sure the place would be full of morning wood if outright jerking.

I have been to Japan 7 times.
I do enjoy seeing the shock of westerners when they realise they have to go naked in the bath.
That’s where I feel Youth Hostels have an advantage. I last stayed at this one in 1999.
In Sydney try YHA Central or Maze Backpackers if you need a place to start.Sydney Local Government rules state accommodation places must provide some privacy in showers.
Brisbane used to good with the Nomads opposite Central station. But it is closed.
Melbourne try the YHA in Flinders St if no one suggests anything else.
1. Go to rudas bath in men days (monday, wednesday and thursday morning)
2. Male dorm : Marco polo hostel

Any good stories about generator?
Last february i stayed 2 nights at Generator . Basement showers were Busy especially in the evening and a lot of fun happening there. Also in the showers on each floors you can find some guys thai are ok of being naked infront of otterrai guys
