Youth Hostels with Communal Showers

Any recommendations for Athens in Greece?

Visiting next week and I think it'd be cool to try a hostel for a change. I really like the idea of guys being naked or in very little clothes around each other without it necessarily meaning anything. I liked it in the army too. I don't know how to explain it but there's a warmness and intimacy to it. I do believe that nude is just beautiful because everyone's body is a piece of art.

Maybe you should check the Bedbox Hostel. It has only male rooms.

Hey thanks! I checked it out and it seems like a good choice... buut it has a bit too much privacy for my liking. It does seem like the showers can shut completely even though they're communal. I might chicken out since my army days are well behind me so I'd prefer some place where you simply can't be that modest if that makes sense.

I did a bit of research and it seems there are some hostels that only have curtains to cover each shower. Now that does remind me of the military! The ones I found were Kefi and When in Athens. I like that in both cases you have to hang your things outside of the shower. There were other good choices but they have these really vague photos of their communal bathrooms that aren't helpful at all.

I just want a communal experience with other guys with nudity being accepted (obviously nothing that makes anyone uncomfortable). I guess male only dorms would be nice since I'm mostly looking for guys so I'll consider your suggestion, but do you have any other places to recommend or do you know anything about the ones I mentioned?

No, unfortunately I know nothing concerning the hostels you mentioned. I don' t have something else in my mind. :/

I'll be visiting for a few days.. maybe I'll try all of them lol

Communal showers and open nudity doesn't seem to be a thing in Greece in general except for conscripts. I find that even athletes don't usually get naked in locker rooms. Well at least compared to Italians and Spanish guys.

Where did you go wrong Greece??

Any recommendations for Chicago or the US?
There is always Steamworks, the gay boathouse. But you will find more communal male nudity at King Spa (not a gay bath although plenty of gay and bi guys there) where men are required to be nude in the wet area. Showers at King are in the open.

Genuine question here. I love hostels and the community feeling you get while traveling but I will always choose a room based on comfort and location. Why do some of you guys not just book the hostel you like the look of and that fits your budget etc. and visit a local gym or swimming pool? Hell, if you're gonna use a hook up app to facilitate your meet ups anyway, why not just book a cheap hotel room and avoid the chance of a mixed dorm all together?
