Colton underwood- american football player

His father is a conservative republican, but nothing directly from Colton. But you know how people here like to amalgamate
Not to be that guy, but as Archbishop Tutu said, "If you are neutral in situations of injustice, you have chosen the side of the oppressor"

Also, his fiancé being a fan of Pete Buttigieg suggests to me he's on the conservative side anyways since Buttigieg is solidly on the right side of the Democrat's big tent. So if Colton is/was conservative, he wouldn't have to change many of his viewpoints to align with his fiancé's

And who are you to say that he is not actively working on opening up his father's beliefs? You do not have to be actively posting your actions on Twitter and Instagram to actually be doing the work.

How many posted that very quote from Desmond Tutu when he passed away and are actually doing nothing to actually change things? I really hate virtue signalling activism.

I'm sorry, I should've been more clear. My use of the quote related more to the previous post describing Colton as politically "uninterested". I don't purport to know what his political beliefs are and whether or not he's doing the work, I just was pointing out how refusing to take a political stance can be harmful.

I definitely understand your point regarding virtue signaling and I do think that in the case of celebrity activism, it's better sometimes for them not to say anything versus just posting a quote and refusing to do anything substantive to improve the situation.

Colton posted some very nice engagement photos on Instagram. Too many to repost here, but check it out.

I do love how he he has gone from paragon of alleged straightness (star of "The Bachelor") to beyond out. I'm hard-pressed to think of another gay celeb who would put his engagement photos on Instagram. Not that they'd be ashamed, but just maybe more private.

I can't think of anyone else atm who had a coming out that rapid and as much of a total 180. Totally approve, just kind of stunning. Usually when someone in the public eye comes out, their family/friends have known for years; the person just wasn't public about it. This is really zero to 100 in about a year.

Those words are only applicable in times of crisis and sometimes neutrality can buy you out of trouble when you have actually done nothing wrong lol

And where, pray tell, has injustice not been an issue?

Political fights in the Colton Underwood thread. Lordy, now I've seen it all.
lol personally I think we may be underestimating Colton he may be progressive. Until he actually says something I’m not going to judge but his fiancé based on his social seems pretty progressive. Plus if I’m correct Colton acknowledged his “privIedge” in all aspects multiple times since coming out which I think is pretty
Good. I tend to think most people date and or marry people with the same beliefs. I KNOW it’s exceptions but it makes things easier especially now days. One thing people seem
to forget as well there are literally millions of progressive Christians. Every religion Christian is not a cult evangelical we are true Christians lol

Not just political fights, but fights over what he might be politically, which is about as pointless as it gets. He really hasn't been forthcoming about his political views, which is his right.
