Do you support transgender (formerly male) athletes competing against female athletes?

Folks like me? So...women?

I'm interested for you to explain to me what my unreasonable opinion on the subject is, since I haven't posted it yet and the reason I haven't posted it yet is because I haven't made my mind up. Go ahead.

Those who have never given a shit about the welfare of women, much less taken an interest in their sporting events before and are showing faux concern now only because they respect transgendered folks even less.

This statement is unreasonable.

Care to link a single other thread you have posted (or failing that, even participated in) that expressed clear support for women and women's rights?

I don't recall my advocating support for men and men's rights; should one surmise that I don't support men? Faulty logic.

Having the idea that your thoughts on and acceptance of is required or necessary for a transperson to exist is transphobic. Everything you have posted in this thread is what makes you seem/shows you are transphobic.

I never said anything about the requirement of existence. Try reading with your glasses on next time.

Well, there would still be levels of leagues based on ability or size or whatever.

Don't you think it would be cool to see a few women who are such excellent athletes that they can compete with the men in the upper division?
It would be cool
12 Women Athletes Who Won Against Men - ELLE
and could work in some sports where skill and coordination are more important than strength and speed, like archery, bowls, equestrianism, maybe surfing, and some endurance sports.

One of the main principles in sport is fair contest - the 'level playing field'. That's why there are divisions by age (junior/senior), by weight (in boxing) and by biological gender. That's why performance enhancing drugs are banned - not just because they enhance performance but because they give an unfair advantage to those who have access to them over those who don't. It's hard to see how men and women can compete on a level playing field in most sports when men on average are bigger, taller, stronger and faster. It's too big an advantage to be fair contest.

Also sport is big business. Mixed doubles in tennis is fun but far fewer people pay to watch it than men's or women's singles. I don’t see there'd be a huge crowd for mixed boxing matches, for example or 100m sprint - it would be a poor spectacle and poorly attended.

Excuse me?

Don't expect a response. The second this guy feels like he has been made a fool by a particular person he shuts them out all together. He's only interested in an echo chamber.

People like him are the reason I refuse to use the ignore function.

I've been wondering how one attains a post count of over 800 in just a month.

Apparently it's by blindly reacting.

I quoted your statement in your post. You need to work on your writing skills.

No, it wasn't *my* statement. *You* blindly reacted:

I think he was making two separate points, at least that's how I read it.

The first was an observation of the hypocrisy exhibited by *some* of those up in arms. Those who have never given a shit about the welfare of women, much less taken an interest in their sporting events before and are showing faux concern now only because they respect transgendered folks even less. Maybe that's a lil political - but the OP frequently shoves his own politics down everyone's throats *shrug*

The second point, regarding the topic itself, seems to be that he thinks its unfeasible - you seem to be on the same page, but I don't know if you saw that post:

Unless I'm reading you both wrong.

Incidentally you liked posts by both of the male posters involved, yet when a woman explains the opinion of the first man to the second man, not even her own opinion, you are rude, presumptuous and dismissive. Very telling.

Oh and my writing skills are far superior to yours buttercup. Try not to be triggered by every little thing a woman posts.

Cool. Enjoy your day!
