I have not, but pictures I have seen look like it would be to much "fabulousness" for my taste. A lot of posing.

A long time ago, like 2004 or something, I did the three-day porn star cruise from Tampa to Cozumel and back. Because I was also in porn (what would today be called blogger, not performer), I got friendly with several of the booked performers who were also on board. And yes, it was basically one big floating orgy, at least for me. I can't even remember how many guys I had sex with - performers and punters both - but it would have been approaching a dozen in the three-day period. I've remained friendly with a few - in fact I just hung out with one of them again this weekend in Chicago.

I've heard they are little more than floating bath houses for the duration of the cruise. It they aren't fucking, they are doing a stand and model pose. Not sure that would work for me. I have friends that go on the Chumley Bear cruise each year and really have a good time.

I haven't been on one myself but heard from friends that it can be a floating bathhouse if you want it to be that. My friends went as a couple and they had a great time. It's what you make out of it.

I could not think of anything worse…

Some friends did it a couple of years ago for one of their 40th birthdays and although they said they had an amazing time, having seen the pictures and some of the videos, it looked as far away from my idea of a holiday than you could get.

I've only been on one cruise and that was a regular one on a family holiday. I'm not sure I'd want to do one again, as it was rather uninspiring form a travel point of view (based on my personal tastes), although an easy way to spend time with the relatives. It was like a suburban bubble floating around the water. There was no level of immersion in the places visited as there was simply not the time.

I'm not sure I'd want to wallow in gay sex on a ship with bad food for a week though. But I've always been curious to know what they're really like because they send out an almost schizophrenic marketing message. One one hand, they reiterate again and again that these gay cruises are for regular people and attract all types. Yet on the other hand, the marketing message is almost nothing but muscular guys in speedos frocking about. If you dig deeply on the website, they may have a couple pics of middle aged couples on a shore excursion though, lol. The gay cruise industry has a Madonna-whore complex.

I realise everyone views travel differently in terms of what's enjoyable.

My worst nightmare. Segregation is icky.

Completely agree.

A few years ago, I needed to go from the UK to New York, and being that I work on a plane, the last thing I wanted to do was get on another one. So, I took the Queen Mary 2 from Southampton to New York.

I met some of the most wonderful people, from all walks of life and social circles, and, although it being a Transatlantic Crossing you of course, don't stop anywhere, it was a most amazing experience!

Yes, there was the "Friends of Dorothy" meeting (a long standing Cunard tradition, along with the "Friends of Bill W." meeting) so you could go and meet people of the same ilk if you so wished. I think I went once, but had such interesting and nice people at my dining table that I spent more time with them than anyone else.

Gay sauna, does it count?

I went to a gay sauna last friday night, after work hours so it was A LOT of guys there
So basically everybody wore only towels, the lightning was very dimmed
The area consists of steam room, hot pool, open showers etc
One of the most interesting place is so called 'dark room', and since it was friday night, no towels allowed in that area
So after entering that door, I just sat in an open hall (dimmed light as always), there were few couch and TV with porn there. I was just sitting there, did not expect anything to happen
Suddenly a guy kissed me, another guy came and lick my nipple, other guy rub my arm, and other guy sucked my dick
I was like "WHAT??"
I'm a type that don't feel comfortable to be the main object of something, so I went out

It's interesting to find some random guys, so basically it depends on how you look, whether it attracts another guys or not
Apparently I attracted too much guys, and unfortunately I'm not comfortable with it

I went on a gay cruise a few years ago, San Diego to Acapulco. It was awesome. There was something for everyone. Even a clothing optional pool. There were men of all ages and in additional to the usual gay resort kind of stuff there was the usual cruise entertainment. No families with children. Everybody I met was friendly. But pick the right cruise package for you; they are not all the same.

I am not a fan of those big floating condo cruises. My understanding from folks I know who've gone on the gay exclusive ones is that the gay factor won't make it any more fun if it's not your thing already - unless you're in for the floating bathhouse experience.

There are, on the other hand, lots of intimate queer-only, and/or male-only, and/or clothing optional, etc., sailing tours (actual sailing on a sail boat) around the Mediterranean, the Caribbean, off the coast of Thailand and Vietnam, and a few other areas that I've heard great things about. I'm happy to send links if you're interested, Wappingite.
