Defining bisexuality as broadly as "physically and emotionally attracted to both gender" leaves the door too wide open for merely finding someone of the same sex physically attractive or being emotionally bonded to someone of the same sex as constituting bisexuality. Plenty of straight men find other men handsome. Plenty of straight men have close male friends in whom they confide. Neither circumstance makes these straight men bisexual. I presume your definition was just a bit sloppy but wonder if the more expansive definition wasn't a reflection of the belief prevalent on this site that all men are bisexual.
Bisexual is a pretty simple label to identify as or apply to others for my mind. I don't complicate it with new age nonsense stuff...

I don't think it's fear; they already crossed the line of heteronormativity when experienced sex with men.
For majority if not most bi men its just simple lack of romantic attraction. Its just fun with men and thats it and fun and loving women.
I think even if majority of men were bisexual they still would almost exclusively date and marry women; a lot would probably form some deeper bound with their FWBs but it would hardly count as actual relationship.
Idk, maybe heteromantic bisexuality is a thing mostly for young bi guys and as they grew older something change...

There is something bizarre is having a huge number of alleged sexualities that seen to have popped up over the past decade (maybe I just didn't hear about then before). I find people must have some label nowadays, there is something about being unique and special in it and I find it vomit inducing.
I love a woman and I am w her. And every other person I've been w were guys. I consider myself bi even though she is the only woman I'd be with. Breaking it down into romantic, sexual etc categories and labelling each one makes no sense to me.
The problem for me is that w so many definitions nothing means anything. It is all just noise. Ironically it is a giveaway though. If I hear pan/demisexual being used IRL I know to actively not bother w the individual because frankly I can't be dealing w people who are so fixed on ever increasingly obscure labels.
We should ideally stick w straight, gay, bisexual and those that like trans folk. Four universal terms.

I can't prove it as there are no studies investigating this phenomena but as someone who met quite a bit of bisexual guys and almost all of them only had relationships with women I think they just cant imagine themselves spending the rest of his life with a guy and the idea of romantic thing with a guy is weird 4 them. Term "friends with benefits" perfectly fit to their male hookups because it looks like friendship but extended into sex.
Idk maybe I am biased but I think majority of bi guys are more connected with their straight side and are "straight passing".
We used to hear that bi men are gay men who didn't come fully out of closet but 4 me they are like straight guys who like gay sex lol.
I think its even logical because if you take sexuality as a scale the biggest amount of people are 0 then 1 then 2 then 3 then 4 and 6(100% gay) are more common than 5 [or 4/5]
