So how does the fact you can send dick pics in chat affect the age verification thing and should it not can it be given an option to hide them thru the sfw mode

Yeah, I have to agree with @SubbySlutForBigDick and share her puzzlement with regards to sharing dick pics openly in chat being okay, but cams being unsafe?

@LPSG @LPSG Support my previous post got overlooked (I get it, thread moved a bit fast on the first few days) but I'm still curious to hear your thoughts on this matter. LPSG is a mostly adult-content-oriented network. Why is it that only cams in chat are viewed as dangerous?

I do also have a question of my own:

What makes chat so vulnerable, according to that age verification company that recommended you take the whole thing down? To be even clearer: why only chat, and not the rest of LPSG?
Are we only afraid of minors being in chat? Are they not just as likely to be in forums? Viewing galleries? Exchanging PMs? Exchanging and viewing pics and videos? Are they not EVEN MORE likely to be in these places?

I understand how things are evolving and the apparent need to keep young adults away from porn stuff (good luck with that!). If age verification is a thing you need to set up to protect them (and more importantly the LPSG site and community) I also get that. Why not the full site?

Hello everyone,

We hope you’re doing well. We wanted to share an important update regarding the cam chat feature. After careful consideration and review of our compliance requirements, we’ve decided to discontinue the cam chat option as it currently exists. We know this may be disappointing news for some of you, and we apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

At this time, it’s no longer viable for us to continue offering cam chat without an added age-verification process. As we explore the possibility of reintroducing this feature in a way that meets all necessary guidelines, we’d like your input: how many of you would be willing to go through an age verification process to have access to cam chat?

Please share your thoughts, concerns, or questions with us. Your feedback is incredibly valuable as we work to ensure the community remains a safe and enjoyable place for everyone. Our team will be reviewing all responses and will follow up with any updates on the potential for an age-verified cam chat.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. We appreciate your support as we work through these changes, and we look forward to hearing your feedback.

We are going to leave the old chat up for a brief period of time but are looking to a solution that creates a fun and safe environment for our users.
Yes I went to the age verification, Thurs l will be... Tell you later

Can we please get an update on the cam chat situation? it has been over a month since the feature was removed and we still do not know what decisions have been made. I think we would all appreciate an update to know whether the cam feature is returning with age verification or if it's been scrapped indefinitely.

I understand the necessity of conducting due diligence to ensure the site's long-term viability and legal protection. It is important to take steps to safeguard the platform’s future. However, as admin discusses the implementation of verification systems, there are several concerns that need to be addressed for the benefit of both user privacy and site functionality.

1. Verification Process: Privacy Concerns

After reviewing the ongoing discussion, it seems that most users who regularly utilize the chat and cam functions of the site are open to the idea of verification. However, concerns regarding privacy have been raised, particularly in relation to the storage of documentation and the use of AI-based facial recognition for verification.

While the suggestion of AI face recognition is intriguing, I would like to remind the admin team that many users are hesitant to share personal documentation, let alone their faces. You mentioned that the admin team would not have access to the verification data, but even with AI, the video and data need to be stored in some capacity for analysis. This raises several questions:
  • Could you please share the company you are considering for this AI verification service?
  • Do they have a strict “no records” policy to ensure that the data is not retained or misused?
  • @french_toast has raised a valid point regarding a potential inconsistency between the proposed verification method and the content and ethos of the rest of the site. Could you elaborate on how this system aligns with the overall user experience?

2. Improving the Chat/Cam Functionality

Beyond the verification system, a more pressing issue for many users is the current functionality of the cam/chat feature. I understand that this is one of the less-utilized sections of the site, but this is most likely due to its existing limitations. Those who do use the feature consistently are deeply invested in it. However, in its current state, the feature is not functioning optimally.

If these issues were addressed—whether in terms of technical reliability, user interface, or functionality—I believe the cam/chat feature could become one of the most widely used aspects of the site. It has great potential. To that end, I strongly suggest that the admin team engage with the user base to discuss what they want and need from the cam/chat feature. Listening to the users' feedback could help guide improvements and increase overall usage.

In summary, while verification is a necessary step for the site's protection, it is essential that privacy concerns be carefully addressed. Furthermore, improving the chat/cam functionality would likely lead to a significant increase in its usage and help fulfill the site's potential.

Thank you for considering these points. I look forward to hearing more about the direction the site is headed and the steps taken to improve these important areas.

Thanks for the thoughtful response. :) We're aware of the privacy concerns - in some cases it seems like this is actually part of the formula that some jurisdictions' ant-porn zealots are actually counting on to create existential barriers to adult sites online.

The conditions set out for what this eventually will be will come down to a combination of legislation and cost-viability. Right now it's a mess, and in some jurisdictions, legislators are just ramming it through without signalling what the best practices and accepted solutions will be. It's fairly chaotic and there's no unity on what will be the final requirement.

The conditions that ARE consistent however are that the sites themselves (LPSG in this case) are not allowed to process or hold this data, and the services that sites have to use are not allowed to store it.

This is all still unfolding however, so it's difficult to give an overarching statement beyond that. We're obviously going to look into solutions that are the best fit for this community no matter what. :)

Regarding the chat - it does come down to a cost-risk-benefit balance. Right now, re-building a new chat would be very costly, presents a high amount of liability, and does not offset itself in terms of the cost to build and host it. Additionally, when we look at usage compared to the rest of the site, it is still (even considering potential) quite a disproportionate undertaking compared to adoption. I know our cam users are a very dedicated bunch but like other tribes in the community, it's easy to only see what we're interested in first and foremost.

This could all change as we go through how to re-shape this and how it can be rectified while observing our new requirement obligations but right now it's on hold.

Has it been officially disabled? Can't access the chat section for some reason.

I also cannot access the chat anymore
This is due to an update to our anti-spam settings. Neither of you have not made enough general posts. Making posts in a few more threads should clear things up.
