Well I'm a cis girl who just really want to know who am I competing with haha...I won't harass her.

He comes up really straight to me to be honest, also it is weird to ask a teen about his sexual orientation, I don't think it is appropriate. But I don't think he is gay or bi. Especially after watching all the interviews how he just talked around those questions...and he doesn't look comfortable talking about it...

although there are so many straight passing gay actors!!!
Luke Evans for example or Mathew Bomer, I thought they were both straight before they came out years ago
Plenty of batsh¡t crazy female fans on the internet, too. I'm old enough to remember the utterly despicable behavior exuded by "Reylo" fans towards both Adam Driver's partner and John Boyega.

As far as Connor's sexuality is concerned, afaik he's bi, as the author of the original Heartstopper graphic novel pushed for accurate representation. Other than that, he's... nice to look at. I'm not about to make unfounded assertions about what his actual sexuality is.

He actually applied for the role of Charlie first, so if Alice Oseman comes out and say "hey all our cast members have the exactly same sexual orientation as the characters they portrayed" I don't think he is gay or bi, probably that's why he never answered any questions regarding his sexual orientation, often jumped around it...it's quite a smart move from the PR team to be honest to avoid the backlash of straight actors playing LGBT characters

I mean Joe Locke and Yasmine Finney were both straight forward from the beginning with their sexual orientation and where they belong in the LGBT community...so if KIT were gay or bi he would be openly talking about it too. Like I said I'm 100% sure he is not gay also I saw the casting brochure, nothing about sexual orientation was on the requirements

I'm guessing you haven't seen the reviews and ratings then, LMAO

Furthermore the author of the graphic novels has said it'd likely be four seasons to cover the material it's based on.
I'm not saying there will not be other seasons.

It was the same with Young Royals, there was no guarantee of a second season but they finally started filming in February 2022 and there is not even a hint of a release date.

It doesn't matter what you've read, or what opinions you're formulating that conveniently support the fantasies in your head. Nobody here, gay or straight, has the answer to this question. It's for Connor to answer, when he decides to - and as I said before, there's certainly no good reason for anyone to be stalking his gf / friend's insta accounts.

So really there was no point in making your comment LOL

I'm also worried that it will get cancelled, I have seen too many good shows got canceled "teenage bounty hunters", "I am not okay with this" "crashing"

Heartstopper is not at top in any countries only in the top ten list, and we all know how unpredictable netflix is..

I want at least a second season, they should not milking it like "sex education" for example, the first 2 seasons were amazing, and the third one was a hot mess, really disappointing

Teenage Bounty Hunters was a pandemic-related culling. I don't think we need to worry about that happening here (he said, shortly before the next global pandemic appeared...)

Also FWIW: Heartstopper's rating is 9/10 98% vs TBH's 7.5/10 94%.

exactly. like what’s not clicking?

how do you go from not caring about his sexuality to labelling him “straight”?

it’s sad that we are doing the exact same thing we despise in straight people. the invasive assumptions and constant categorization.

also being masculine presenting doesn’t define sh*t. let him reveal himself at his own pace damn!

Nope you're wrong, they canceled it 2 months after it was released in August 2020 because it did not meet viewership expectations...even though it has high ratings on rotten tomatoes and metacritics, exactly like "Grand Army" or "Dash & Lilly" all three are ranked as one of the best teen netflix shows..."Dash & lily" even has 100 % rotten tomatoes rating.

I am not okay with this was renewed but canceled because of the pandemic

Like I said rating and reviews mean crap if nobody is watching it and a show doesn not have the viewership expectation netflix wants, they want to make money at the end of the day.

We have to share the show every single day and talk about it to save it !!!!

You were saying?

Netflix just cancelled its ‘best’ and 'funniest’ show

That's speculation, netflix never said why they canceled it, also why they canceled dash & lily or grand army... like I already said

If the cancellation is pandemic related they would inform fans about it like "the order" "Im not okay with this" "glow"
In that case it's just as much speculation on your part, since Netflix haven't confirmed that the reason is low viewing figures.

That they don't have to tell viewers jack sh¡t, is basically how they and just about every other broadcaster have ever treated such things. ;) We don't always get an honest answer about cancellations (until some years later in some cases), no matter how entitled fans may feel.

That's not up to her. This is Netflix, under their current model it'll be 3 tops like most shows. But, they're getting so much bad press lately and taking so much flak for the failure of their binge model, 2-3 season limit and poor choices (and regularly canning LGBT shows) that it is very possible-to-likely they will give Heartstopper and other popular, well-reviewed shows like it a wider berth for a bit. Heartstopper has done very well with critics and social media, and I think it is very very likely it will be at the very least renewed for Season 2 shortly.

So you're batting 1000 then.

Considering how she reportedly had a say in the casting, as well as this comment by itself, I think we can assume that she's had discussions with NF regarding the view beyond a single season, don't you?

Discussions, sure. But as many, many past creators at Netflix will tell you, their discussions, hopes and ambitions mean jack shit to that streamer. They have all been canned when they fail to make Netflix's unreasonable binge metrics and/or lack of interest in product they don't own outright. Alice Oseman talking about hoping to get four or five seasons out of her creations means nothing. The Get Down wanted more than one season. The OA had a five year plan. A showrunner's hopes and personal involvement with casting mean nothing re: a production commitment at all.

That being said, I'm pretty sure Heartstopper is safe for a Season 2 renewal, between their successful opening numbers and reviews and the serious heat on Netflix lately for how it's been treating both product and audience.
