agreed and it's not like it'll make him any less hot and no matter what his sexuality is none of us have a chance with him anyway so I don't even know why it's so obsessed over! Just enjoy his work, talent and good looks and call it a day!
totally, plus I bring back the Darren example, Darren played Blaine for years without any scandal, he always supported the LGBTQ community in fact they are his biggest fans, he is now married, has a baby with his wife, and lives his life and yet he will always be... straight... even when he made an openly gay CHARACTER, so I don't know what the problem is with Kit being apparently straight if he is then good for him, now why are they hiding it? maybe we will never know.

One reason for hiding it may be the bad publicity it gives to the series. But it still seems stupid to me

Kit is probably afraid of being accused of queer baiting, stealing a lead role from a openly gay/bi actor, etc. A lot of people online have zero tolerance for straight actors playing queer characters. I totally understand why he doesn't want to "come out" as straight. The only thing that is important for me is that he is perfect as Nick Nelson and I thank the creators of heartstopper for casting him, but a lot of people would hate the fact that they cast a straight actor for this particular role/show.

It may not have to do with the show itself but I'm sure him a long with many public figures like to keep their relationships on the low especially being the star of a show with a large teen fandom many of whom who don't understand or refuse to understand boundaries and send harassing messages to people's partners and think they can insert themselves into the relationship when it's none of their business.

Also one last thing as a gay guy myself I honestly could careless what the actors sexuality is who plays a gay character. It's called "acting" for a reason! If the actor embodies the role and plays it with respect that's all that should matter. All I ask is that if played by a straight actor make sure they are an ally. I mean think of the gay actors who have played straight roles. There'd be an outrage if people said only straight actors should play straight roles. Sexuality is not a physical trait.

Now onto Kit's sexy muscles! hehe

True. It also echoes what Joe said. It's fine for an actor of any orientation to play roles. But it's better if straight actors playing queer roles are aware of queer culture, queer issues and is a strong ally. I believe there will be always certain queer experiences a straight person cannot have. But that doesn't mean one can't act out these scenes.

Hello, bisexuality exists you know. EVEN IF he was dating a girl, he could be Bi or Pan, only he knows his sexuality and he doesn't want to label himself. He auditioned for the role of Charlie after reading the 1st volume, he clearly loves the show and wanted to be part of it because he knew what it would mean for the LBGT community. Please stop with the bullshit, I beg!

I don't really see a problem with that... You shouldn't be posting or talking about anything under 18 here anyway...
Oh I'm totally fine with the new rule, just giving a heads up to people here that if you're not sure when the pic was taken you shouldn't post it, as they don't care if you knew or not, or if it was an innocent mistake, they will banned you immediately now.

I still don't understand what the problem is with the fact that Kit Connor is possibly straight, straight actors have been playing gay *, in this case, bisexual* roles for a long time, a clear example of that is the always beautiful Darren Criss who from the beginning of Glee said he was straight and that didn't hurt his career at all, and that was years ago so I don't understand why Kit doesn't just say ''Hey, yeah, I'm straight, this is my girlfriend, and that's it''. Still, the fans are going to love him, still, the fans are going to support him, it's who he is not going to continue with this stupid narrative that ''she's my friend'' it's obvious she's not just his friend.
you don't see how heterosexist this sounds? how this erases queer existence by assuming heterosexuality is the standard before people evolve into something else. if he is actually bisexual like his character, "fans" will still call him a queerbaiter because he's not dating a man. this is actually the sad reality many bi/pan people have to face.
