Open Showers

You talk to younger guys who did not grow up with open showers and they can't believe we would just stand around naked in the shower chatting about our day...
I posted this post in Open Showers earlier and it's a nostalgic page out of yesteryear where there was no such thing as towel-dancing or modesty and it was a relaxed male sanctuary. I've found males act very differently when females are around and this allows us to be us. The only place you can find that now is in Europe and a few places in the US. Also a few Korean spas sprinkled around the country. Korean spas have mandatory nudity and they only give you a little towel which covers nothing but perhaps your face. It can freak a Gen Y or Gen Z out.

A "few places" ... https://www.google.com/maps/d/u/1/e...&ll=10.59693289732833,-20.238108176862966&z=3

LifeTime Fitness is awful. People are afraid of any sudlle nudity. Went on a tour to sign up.. Wanted to use gym and hot tub, everyone was in suits and covering up too much. Like its in the locker room, i was surprised why is there a hot tub in locker room if you are all covered up
Lifetime Fitness is the pricey snowflake chain / Planet Fitness is the cheap one; both totally suck for their warped woke policies that men should be "covered" while utilizing the ameneties ...
WHILE IN THE MENS LOCKER ROOM

* fun fact / notable exception:
LF & PF both have 2 locations ea (shockingly) w/open showers; PF in Boston burbs & LF in Minneapolis burbs

I wish I could be a fly on the wall for the conversations about removing open showers. What is the justification given for making that change?
I'm sure it's due to the trend of new users disapproval of open showers. They weren't required to use them in growing up in school and they don't see a reason to conquer that anxiety we all felt at first.

That's such a great attit

however, while I was in Milwaukee 6 months ago, I heard that the Wisconsin Athletic Clubs [WAC] had cs that were used by all members, without issue & yet over the Christmas holidays they still remodeled / added stalls to most of their locations.
Which doesnt make sense unless they mistakenly thought it would make their shower experience appear "more luxurious" in order to compete with the proliferation of Lifetime Fitnesses etc.

what can we do to help? SPEAK UP and voice your feelings that you enjoy the classic "locker room set up" & hope its "never remodeled". (When I post on yelp, google reviews I make sure to express this exact sentiment). Ive been told board members of YMCA's = DO READ their locations reviews.

So I use to go to Lifetime Fitness and the reason people had to cover up and wear suits in hot tub and cold plunge is because managment posted many signs stating that you must wear shorts when using them. It's absolutely gross with all the germs on clothes.

Yeah like the gym im going to join shortly has a sauna only in the locker room. But not sure how I ask about dress code. I just do not want to show up wrapped in a towel and get kicked out but come on. Like If i wrap myself in a towel then i got a sweety towel and then i need to get a fresh one to dry off.. I wish I could just sit on a towel and let it all hang out ....

The korean spa, Island in Edison the temp is way too hot for my taste. 120 for wet and 150 for wet... Like they should make it adjustable with a max temp so people can lower it
