korean gyms tend to be open showers
reckon its because they already have sauna jimjilbang culture so they've normalised nudity
its so liberating

I was in Germany and experienced this. Coming from the modesty rules US it is quite a culture shift.

Some may have single sex times maybe once a week but yes coed nudity even families go together.

When I have a long layover, I jump in a uber
& head here to use the dry sauna, large hot tub
and showers.

This location & the downtown Dallas Y are my 2 favorite TX locations
(‘which are both ALWAYS busy with guys of all ages).

I use T Boones quite often and heard it was sadly going away? Perhaps we’ve run in to each other there?

I imagine a lot of those are crude generalisations. My own experience in the UK is basically coed = swimwear, men only = clothing optional (i.e. hotch-potch of blokes in shorts or sitting on towels bollock naked.)

HOWEVER, Mountain Brook Y (up the road), remains in the top echelon as one of the best gyms in the USA for a true communal shower experience. ☝
