I hate the fact that Eva sucked the life and fun out of him. He was such a present actor and celebrity before her, and he is semi retired since being with her. I am 100% sure he is on the verge of retiring too, and that's why he is doing these last few movies all with big budgets, to ear money. His interview with GQ pretty much confirmed that.

Please tell us your first hand knowledge and the deep conversations you’ve had with Ryan regarding these feelings about his career. He's only 40 and only has 20 years in Hollywood, and out of those 20 he worked for like 10. He literally said he doesn't plan on doing more than one movie per year. The Grey Man, Barbie, The Fall Guy, Hail Mary Project and The Wolfman all being big budgeted movies tells us that he is after pay check, probably to secure his future without further working. He just seems so uninterested and unbothered by anything in Hollywood. And it's a shame because he really worked hard to get where he did, and just when he cracked it both with indies and BO success in 2011 he met her and started dissapearing.

Since he started his relationship with Eva he only filmed these movies:

2015 - The Big Short
2016 - The Nice Guys
2016 - La La Land
2017 - Blade Runner 2049
2018 - First Man
2022 - The Grey Man
2023 - Barbie

7 movies in a decade...
