Getting caught or the risk of getting caught was obviously this person’s kink, and he was stupid by it in with work and posting it online. I disagree that this should reflect poorly on the gay community and that the gay community as a whole is at fault for anything here. This guy acted on his own with his partner, and will have to face the consequences of his actions, legal, societal etc. That is correct and needs to happen.

Blaming the gay community for this guy’s actions or saying his actions come from a place of being ‘sex positive’ is incorrect. You can be sex positive, even risky, while not being immature or potentially infringing on the privacy and security of others. Those are different issues.


Now, If people are hurling insults at him for being gay (they are) or shaming other gay people because of his actions, that is homophobic and not right. That’s where I’d hope lgbtq organizations steps in. Saying people need to not be homophobic towards him isn’t excusing his actions.

I agree. I think there is also a gay echo chamber where this kind of behavior is extremely normalized (even praised) and then they go out into "regular" society acting a fool and are surprised that normal people are disgusted by their depraved behavior. This isn't to slut-shame, because do whatever you want to do in your private life and what-not, but doing these things in public buildings is unexeptable for most people, gay or straight.

On a separate but related note, I don't think this is a behavior that is exclusive to gay-men, I think it's just men in general. If straight men had broad access to this level of sexual freedom, they would be doing the exact same thing. And the ones that have found women that ignore the societal pressures regarding female chastity/purity actually do these kinds of things as well. The gay community benefits from the idea that it's "normal" for men to want and have as much sex as possible and there is less of a stigma because of it.

I think mental health is not a subject within the gay male space thats NOT talked about enough. OBVIOUSLY, our mental health are impacted just not being straight. We have a lot of folks that need to sit with a therapist and need help. Nothing wrong with sex or being sexual. Theres a time and place for everything within reason. Its when you have people like said individual doing whatever craziness for such time and gets caught then tries to turn it into victimhood when he has to take accountability and face the consequences. I agree that those who participate in the porn economy— even us who are participating by payments or as voyeurs— need to be open about conversations about consent and what is appropriate to post (sex acts in/ involving the workplace not being one of them). Only if a third person had come into the room would the whole thing be an administrative offense - which would legally be comparable to exceeding the speed limit of more than 20 km/h in traffic.

2. I don't think it's a matter for Georg how investigations are going in the U.S. since I read he already returned to Germany for Christmas. It is part of the german constitution that no German is extradited. No matter what he did abroad. However, if he's still in the USA, it possibly changes the situation.

3. German newspapers report on the incident ranging from amusement to seriousness. A conservative newspaper reports here most quickly and most outrageously. Website is NIUS.de ; Story is on the front-page. (just use a translator if u can't speak more GERMAN than "Bratwurst" or "Jägersoße" lol)

Yeah this basically holds true for the American involved as well. This is unlikely to result in criminal charges unless they were caught, which would be public indecency, which is relatively minor. But it would have been possibly enough to have gotten someone's student visa revoked.

Firstly, yeah he's obviously a dumb dumb for not only fucking in his place of work but also recording it and also posting it to social media and spreading it around.

But secondly, for those who are saying this will set LGBT and gay communities back, it gives the enemies ammunition, yada yada, none of that matters. I agree with you as a whole, but I also feel like when you choose to work in such a high-profile job, you know you are going to represent a wider community. If he was some guy working at Dairy Queen, getting plowed, I wouldn't care. So many men in his position had to live a complete lie to help get him to the place he was in today and the least I think someone in that position could do is be more discreet to help not only yourself but other men, and the men who will have your job after you. The frequency of an infraction doesn't impact its severity. Murder or theft aren't suddenly less serious because lots of people have killed someone or stolen things. Also I think the homophobia is minimal here. People are emotional and offended because its humiliating. A representative of the US government (elected or not) shared a video of himself getting butt-fucked by a foreigner (German citizen) inside what is supposedly one of our most secure federal buildings.
