Yes. The pharmaceutical industry holds heavy influence over government affairs. One might even postulate it is one of the true powers of state. Perhaps this influence could be tamed if we'd stop turning Washington into a geriatric ward riddled with dementia and narcissism.

Glyphosate, the notorious former active ingredient of Roundup, is slowly being phased out. Roundup, being offered here, is no longer being produced with it.
This herbicide, and other toxins, are overused. With that being said, it is a toxin. Many things have a potential of being dangerous. Whatever the chemical, the real dilemma is getting people to follow the directions.

It is often placated and trivialized. If we just recycle or buy local or support those windmills, or look for an electric car, it'll all be okay. However, it is highly unlikely global emissions of global warming green house gases will plateau (let alone decrease), unless we are willing to change our way of life. That is a hard sell. So... we are all racing toward the cliff face together.

It's part of the human condition. We kick problems down the road. We don't want to accept hardships "now", blindly putting them off for "tomorrow".

Trees and shrubs that produce berries can be an important food for many birds. Some wintering birds rely heavily upon such fruit. Plants not native did not evolve with resident bird populations. Sometimes this can have disastrous results. The heavenly bamboo (Nandina domestica) can be toxic and European buckthorn (Rhamnus cathartica) has berries that act like a laxative. Both can be lethal in non native habitats.
