What made you laugh today?

... this memorable description of the material it was made of: “Genuine Imitation Artificial Leather!”...

@NCbear - G.I.A.L. is at the height of haute Paris, Tokyo, London, and N.Y.C. runway fashion shows, now, during these Covid-shuttered times...

Don't ya know?...
I am, of course, now sporting an overly long pendulous, vegan belt, that drags around my ankles, to keep up with the trend.

This T-shirt, that my 28 year old cousin, an awesome, feminist, and anti-racist activist, a caring immigration justice lawyer, who is fully fluent in Spanish and English, in the courts, as well as in the sickening ICE detention centers in California... Sent to me to wear at my upcoming, October birthday party...

I'm rather
fond of her!... :)

Absofuckimglutely!
Rock that shirt, Uncle AB, and '¡Feliz cumpleaños!

Your post made me remember something truly hilarious that I haven’t thought about in years.

In the week before I went to college, the prissy, fussy, gossipy old straight male hospital orderly (and busybody) next door stopped by with a going-away gift.

I unwrapped it that night. The next moment I was nearly crying with laughter. As were my parents, whose senses of humor are very similar to my own.

Per the picture on the outside of the cheap cardboard package, inside was a large, square, brown vinyl bag with a zipper lengthways across the top, obviously meant to hold shaving kit and men’s toiletries. In extremely fulsome language, promoted by truly huge letters on the small box, was this memorable description of the material it was made of: “Genuine Imitation Artificial Leather!”

NCbear (for whose family this became a years-long running joke used to describe any fakery or bullshittery—“yes, but is it truly genuine as well as artificial?”—and then we’d crack up again)
Now it’s genuine vegan leather.

I admit, I struggle with use of animals, but I struggle less with new petrochemical items. That’s a hard no. I’ve defaulted to “we need an earth for the animals,” so planet first.

The fact that they are able to do math does give me some hope for the future.

Dude... 6 + 7 + 5 = 18 ... NOT 19!

That's why that pic was posted in the "What Made You Laugh Today?" thread.

Comprende?
