The forum I moderate had a diabolical way of dealing with the worst trolls and haters. At one point the forum software gave us the ability to have a member post anything anywhere they wanted....but nobody else except moderators could see it.

Worked like a charm...nothing stops a troll like no replies at all.

Starving trolls are dead trolls. Best way to stop them is not to engage. I can just picture them stomping away and getting zero response. Must make their fat heads explode!

This pissed me off bigly. That photo that went viral isn't about her being a woman scientist... although it IS good to see women in science being represented, and it doesn't hurt that she looks more like Penny than Amy on TBBT... but it's not about gender. its about a brilliantly timed candid photo that shows the "holy shit, it worked" moment of an amazing discovery. That photo makes science relatable. It boggles my mind how people want to steal her joy to push their agenda.
