I need to speak to my GP to see if I qualify

Do. There is nothing to fear. I only had mine done yesterday and mentally I feel better about my sexual health.

I couldn't clean properly under there and I can already see the tip and how it will be improved when it has healed.

I’m definitely going to now. It’s been too long for me and I really need to get cut. This really should be a routine thing offered to all adult men in the uk!

There was no hesitation from the urology department when they examined me. Basically because of my issues they said it's doing me more harm than good.

The thing is to get your GP to refer you to urology. They'll take it from there.

Stick with it. The wait times are crazy at the moment.

I’m going to talk it through with my wife later today and think about calling the GP for an appointment tomorrow morning. Thanks for your help and advice

With the head sensisitivity, I have read that putting petroleum jelly on the tip can make it better but I assume that that is just delaying the process of the skin toughening up?

Honestly, I don't know if it delayed it. I wore a dressing for couple of weeks and I had vasaline on it. When I stopped wearing the dressing, I didn't put vasaline on. The sensitivity was only when I didn't wear underwear. But the sensitivity just seemed to disappear over night by itself. I don't know what happened but it was really sensitive 1 day, and fine the next day

The sooner you do it, the better because the doctor will give you creams to try. Like a steroid cream. I was also given canestan which is for thrush before I was given the steroid cream.
Neither worked and was a waste of time. So if you can waste this time now and get on the list to see a specialist as soon as possible as there is delays because of covid.

I disagree. This will only cause further delays for men who need it. Delays are long enough without adding people who want it as a cosmetic procedure. There is nothing wrong with men having foreskin so why does everyone need the option to remove it.

Thank you. I will get onto it as soon as I can. I can imagine they will be trying everything to avoid surgery because of the COVID backlogs

I do think that the benefits greatly outweigh not having it done. Priority should always go to men that need it most though

Most of the nerves is in the tip of the foreskin so it's creates better orgasm for men. We have skin there for a reason and its only removed for specific reasons like Religion and medical.

Less nerves and sensitivity isn’t a bad thing for me. I am somewhat over sensitive, which causes some sexual problems

A routine? What could be the benefits if some bloke wants it cut (purely cosmetic reasons)? Not to miss the already burdened NHS.

If you want and need it you should have access to the procedure regardless. It's all choice and preference, and the subject shouldn't be marred by other people's opinions. It's your body, your penis, and you should have the ability to control it's destiny.

Are you saying all cosmetic surgery should be available on the NHS? I would love a nose job.
It's my body, my nose and I should have the ability to control its destiny?

No I'm certainly not. Though if you had a car accident and your face was damaged then you should have to option for it.

This is a good thread and my post was directed in a way to put off or stop it being dragged into a tribal we should all be cut or nobody should be cut slagging match. Loads of circumcision threads turn into that.

One cannot want and need at the same time.

Trimming isn't a priority when many individuals will try to get cover from NHS for something purely cosmetic while many wait for their dental appointment with pain. It's my mouth, my tooth but I can't control and have to pay for my dental treatment.
