The whole virgin things it's not him that told the production, but the production that created a storyline. They often make up stuff like that. In most of his interviews he said he never had a girlfriend.
He said it first on the Bachelorette where he started that good boy thing when he told the Bachelorette, Becka, that he was a virgin. She famously walked right out, hahaha. She also got shit for doing that but looks like she was reading those red flags. Production can only use the shots they are given. He brought it up as a big reveal they went with it, he went along for the ride as you pointed out. Colton is full of it.

Production can only use what you give them. He’s played the “straight-Virgin-looking-for-the-right-one” card many times from interviews to his book to podcasts to even meeting fans in person. So him blaming producers is again, another lie
