God i hope the poor boy doesn't read this thread, he's had enough panic attacks already.
This is a huge problem with this whole situation of Shawn having anxiety over his sexuality. Almost everyone on here thinks it's "not a big deal" because they haven't gone through what he's going through. If you could even pull your head out of your ass for one second and realize not everyone is in a position to live their lives freely and as who they truly are like you, then you'd understand how much anxiety, depression, and suicidal thoughts having to suppress your sexuality to this degree causes. Complaining that he should "just come out" and how he's being homophobic by not doing so is so ignorant and closed-minded.
Living in a society that rejects homosexuality and having a homophobic upbringing psychologically fucks the shit out of you. Speaking from experience if you were brought up with the mentality that homosexuality is wrong and constantly seeing homosexuals shunned around you, you will never feel comfortable coming out even if you feel support from friends, social media, or fans in his case. There are things we don't even know about Shawn's upbringing like how his family views homosexuality, but he has said that he's been bullied for being in choir and god knows what he's gone through while being in Magcon. It's such a stressful and anxiety-ridden situation that you're forced into, and I can't even fully describe how irritating it is to see posts like these that say that it isn't a big deal because it's a spit in the face to the people that actually have to go through it.
My overall point is don't be ignorant and leave the guy alone, you can tell he's going through this huge crisis with his sexuality. The last thing you want to hear is him committing suicide over you annoying, inconsiderate fucks.

Yep. Had girlfriends in HS and college too before coming out at 22 (2 years older than Shawn).

I think someone like Tom (or Shawn) check the wholesome adorkable twink box that is like catnip to a lot of gays... Tom grew up in and around theatre and dance, I would imagine he’s accustomed and comfortable with queer culture and doesn’t pay any mind to rumors.
I suspect most of the gay defense squad absolutely thinks that. Mostly because they (myself included) see behavior that is all too relatable—that level of anxiety only comes from the fear of being outed, or not fully coming to terms with your sexuality. Remember another source of his anxiety is staying relevant and if he thinks that being outed will change his stardom trajectory (or inauthenticate his songs about girls) then he is going to sink deep into denial. Shawn has a worldwide arena tour next year and is on the cusp on headlining stadiums, who knows what that level of fame does to your head.
Don't forget also the pressures of what music/record execs can put on him... All they care about is $$$$ at the end of the day and try to mould or control a persons image to suit their cash flows!
By all means im not saying this is happening with Shawn but if it was the case that's what would be happening for sure!

Why cant people just respect his situation? Ofcourse one will put under so much anxiety when all of his act or do is relates to gay behaviour. People should be noted that not all guys with a lil bit of feminine is gay. When what his does and says is always being question ofcourse she is under a lot of pressure by means are you comfortable even to eat or walk and people judging you even tho it is not what you are and none would believe so. In this era if you say abt popularity he could come as gay if he wants to as it can boost his career even more. But why he doesn't because he ain't gay. Just respect him. period
