What's for dinner?

Just made the list for the market...
Broiled salmon with a Greek yogurt, dill, lemon, and cucumber sauce.
Jasmine rice, raisens and slivered almonds
Steamed broccoli
Cold Asparagus tips, red lettuce, onion and boiled egg salad.
Garlic buttered toast

Beef. stew. Hungarian style, with the potatoes alongside. Cole slaw.
Hahahahah, this is exactly how we make it here!
The secret is red wine and ONIONS! 2 pounds of beef=2 pounds of onions!
Oh and if you have some griled peppers, chop them with your fingers and and add them 10-15 mins before it`s all cooked!
As we say PRIJATNO!!!
And I`ll be right over :biggrin1:

It has mushrooms instead of half the onions. And yes, lots of sweet peppers.

Appetizer: Fresh rustic grain rolls served with: (a) small bowls of strips of blanched egg plant conserved in olive and whole spices (b) small bowls of cremona de queso whipped with fresh chives.

Beverage(s): Agua con gas (Villavicencio) and what bottles were left of a 2002 Pinot Noir

Meat dish: Roast Leg of lamb larded with strips of local country bacon and home-grown garlic buds. Seared on all sides then slow cooked (8 hours) with fresh rosemary and thyme until the meat pulled away (not like the 'Mericuhn/French-style roast until pink crap). Shredded and served in heated casserole bowl

Vegetables: "sweet" carrots and loads of caramalized onions served in heated casserole bowl.

Side dish: Home made acorn squash fettuchini topped with Salsa Parisienne (whole cream-base whipped with crumbled goudot, gorganzola, port salut until melted and mixed with shredded chicken, sweet ham, fresh baby peas, and asparagus tips). Parmazano rellado served on the side if anyone wanted it instead of salt for the pasta. Served in giant pasta platter.

Dessert: Bosc pears poached in the neighbor's home made sauvignon rojo with just a little honey added before serving with whole whipped cream you could cut with a knife.

Too many glasses of freezing cold Freixenet brut* and and a platter of fresh muscat grapes until guests passed out or went home.

*For the money, it's hard to beat Freixenet in quality, flavor, bubbles, and inevitable headache.
