Are Guys More Comfortable Naked In The Locker Room Than They Used To Be?

I'm starting to open myself up in the locker room. I spent years avoiding communal showers because of an unfortunate incident in high school, but a couple weeks ago I forced myself to use one at a Y while I was on a work trip.Since them, I've been on another work trip and used communal showers at a different Y a couple of times. I've also started being a little more open in my locker room at home. I'm not ready to use the communal showers there yet, but I am trying to be more open while I change and avoid the towel dance.

I think I'm bucking the trend of guys my age. Older guys definitely seem more comfortable wandering around naked. Younger guys tend to cover up. I think it comes from all of us not being exposed to more naked locker rooms in college and high school.

I agree with you, there was very little nudity in college. As I have gotten older ( 37) I could care less about it. It is non sexual and I do not care who sees me naked now.

I don't know if things are better or not. Just saw a guy with a good body at the gym locker room today and he did the towel dance. How sad that he lacks confidence like that.

In addition, why is it acceptable for kids to watch violent movies and games, but seeing a naked person is just the worst thing ever.

I think I've been wondering about this since I became old enough to understand the concept.

Then again, I might not be the best person to ask because I'm still trying to figure out how a guy can be old enough to risk his life operating tanks & planes in combat yet still be too young to drink a beer in a bar.

IMO, confidence and a smile can be 'loud' enough to balance out physical problems. Strange how little mention that gets in mainstream media.

Then there's ingredient 'X'. Haven't we all seen bodies that are definitely not 'hot' according to mainstream media, but yet our dicks are like, "Fuck yeah! I want some of that!"

When I was in Air Force boot camp that was my first experience with communal showers, of course no one has a choice and all 50 of us showered together twice a day. I find that veterans are less shy about locker room nudity and nudity in general from then on.

I see a guy shaving regularly at the sink while doing to towel dance. I shave in the shower but walk naked with my towel over my shoulder to and from the showers. I also walk around the locker room and into the restroom area naked.
I mean we all have a dick so it's no big deal to me to walk around naked.

Body shaming. Being ashamed of the penis and testicles is terrible. They are beautiful organs, and they should be admired and respected.

Easy to say that, but remember that some guys truly are hung like tic-tags, and right or not, it's no wonder they're embarrassed. I do wish, tho', that size weren't such a big deal. It's always a little triumph to read about some small-wicked guy who's taken the step to liberate himself by going naked in the locker room.

What was this incident in high school? It pisses me off that guys do whatever harmful stuff they do to other guys at that stage of life. Imagine the GOOD we could do if we were kind and encouraging to the younger guys.

Not at all half the population has a dick. Even though I'm not that big soft I'm not ashamed to walk around naked in front of other guys even if there are some that are showers. None of us can help the size of our dick's. It is what it is.

A dick is just a dick at the end of the day. It is just there for urine release and for sexual thrills to spew semen.

Most men are not well-hung (soft or hard), anyways. They are really not. This is a hard, cold fact.

Liberate yourself. Do it. At the end of the day, dick size, like body beauty, is meaningless. We only do it for sexual thrills. The big boy dick that most dudes dream of having between their legs has zero intrinsic value in and of itself.
