Having higher bodyfat is not superior, unless were talking about trying to survive in freezing conditions or in starvation ( which people the western world typically are not trying to do )
then having high bodyfat is an awful thing, the ideal amount of bodyfat for men is 7 to 12% and the ideal for women is 15 to 20%.
