Getting circumcised at 30 (U.K.)

Adult jobs with the ZSR staple tool seems to give the best results with least post op complications. Gives a nice high and tight circ scar which also looks the best. Check out YouTube for videos. I would definitely go that way. Least issues with erections when sleeping also. wish I had a ZSR option for my adult job. Fuck foreskin, all it did was to cause me issues and pain. Cut is way better. Don’t get put off for a couple of weeks of recovery. Cheers bro

A bit late to the thread. I had a ZSR and frenulectomy in London last year. Very little pain and uneventful recovery
I’m only on day 2 so I’m not expecting miracles just yet. Swelling and a bit of discomfort but nothing *too* crazy. Hopefully the swelling goes down within this week.

A lot of the swelling will be gone by next week, but the residual swelling takes a further week or two to completely go.
The trickiest thing is dealing with your 'head' touching clothing and bed sheets etc, until you get used to the new sensitivity, once you're not wrapping it up anymore. The key is to find a balance between limiting the touches, but allowing some touches/rubbing because that's how you get used to it.

Good to hear things went smoothly.

Nocturnal erections were my biggest issue in terms of pain, a couple of weeks at most. I had a few staples drop out before they should and used steri-strips to keep the wound edges together. 3M branded ones much better than cheap alternatives that drop off.

i’m at a little over 6 weeks post-cut now and surprisingly the night time erections were only annoying for around a week or two and i didn’t wake up too many times in the night due to them, just super early in the morning and couldn’t get back to sleep haha. otherwise everything has healed amazingly and am more focused on working on the scar than working on it healing :)

Hello,

after struggling even worse than usual for the past year or so with tight foreskin, and trying steroid creams and stretching, the doctors have basically said I need to get cut.
I’m debating the stapler method and would appreciate any advice from anyone who’s been cut later in life. Recovery tips, how to make sure it all heals as good as possible etc.

Thank you in advance!
I’ve seen pics of the stapler method. Results look straighter and no “Frankenstein” scar look. There’s another less known method called proximal circ. They take a sleeve of shaft skin near the base of your cock, pull back the shaft skin and stitch together. There is no actual loss of the foreskin, no cutting by the head, no chance of damaging nerves by the head. So basically it’s like pulling your skin wayyyy back and fully exposing head. The only loss of sensation will be as your head gradually keratinizes (dries out and forms thin callous layer) and the only scar is by the pube line

Update now I’ve had all my staples and stuff out.
I like…
That the glans now actually has the classic shape after 30 years of covered foreskin/phimosis

I don’t like…
That the skin covers the glans still when soft. Apparently doctors these days leave a bit of skin so erections are less tight and painful.

(Ps I’m aware my dick is well below average so that might affect the style of the cut when soft)

You look great!! I hope you're much happier in the future ;) :)

Just as a little testimony, but I also got cut YESTERDAY and so far it’s far from a nightmare. The most sensitive part for me was the removal of the frenulum, and that’s still the most sensible part so far, but other than that… I woke up because of an erection last night but I was mostly stressed ABOUT the erection, it really didn't hurt all that much.

Bandages will be taken off tomorrow. Can’t wait to see.

Also, it is true, talk with your doctor if you have a preference. They will still advise you if they think your body would heal/react in a different way, but they are the pros!

May I ask why and what method? Did you have a choice of high, low, frenulum or not? I’ve read about the ZSR method that uses like 100 mini staples. Or the proximal method where they remove a sleeve of skin from the base of the shaft and slide everything back so the stitches are at the pube line and the foreskin itself is fully preserved.

So far I would describe it as “low and loose” so the scar is closer to the head, and the doc said she’d leave as much skin as possible. Really classic technique.

Frenulum is gone, and she didn't really give me a choice about that (although I dont mind it because it was not really pleasurable for me. It was sensitive but on the annoying spectrum of sensitive).

I have good old stitches, maybe around a dozen.

I did it because I would get lots of shaffing on the surface of my foreskin (like carpet burns) either from sex or masturbation, and had minor paraphimosis (skin would roll back, but gave my penis an hourglass shape). So she had to get rid of that part for sure. Taking out a part at the base was not an option.

48hrs after operation today. Took a shower and the bandages off. Its swollen but no bruises or anything. Not that sensitive either.

Ok

ok thanks. So it was partly medical and partly cosmetic.
